On Dec. 5, 2017, the U.S. Department of Labor published a proposed rule that would rescind tip-pooling regulations for employers that pay their tipped employees a cash wage that is at least equal to the federal minimum wage rate. The public has been invited to submit comments regarding this proposal by Jan. 4, 2018. This Compliance Bulletin provides an overview of the proposed rule.
